Amelie from Montmartre ( Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain )

     This is one of my favourite movies. This movie is from France, the romantic country.
     Amelie from Montmartre is talk about a simple love story between a kind girl who work in a coffee shop and a man who like to collect the broken photos that under photo machines.
      The colour in the whole movie makes me feel warm and peace, just like a small town in France, not too many people or cars, and hasn't any big shopping malls. The citizens in this town have normal days, nothing special, but I think it is the real life. The most special thing in this movie is the love between two protagonists. They used unusual way to find each other and fell in love. There are also some interesting episode in this movie, such as Amelie helped two people fell in love, brought the old toys that was found in her house back to the old oweer, took an blind man crossed the street. I think the director can describe the details very well, because he can make thing from normal to unique, that is one of the reasons why I like this movie, and I have watched Amelie from Montmartre for three times.

Plasticine

This is my favorite toy in my chilhood-----Plasticine.
I like colorful things when I was a child, so I chose plasticine. I think it is a toy that can practice children's creativity. However, I can't use plasticine make a good work without molds. Therefore, my dad always bought a lot of interesting molds for me. Such as somethings that can change the shape of plasticine to noodles, breads or French fries. There are also some special tablewares for plasticine, I usually used plasticine to "cook" a dinner for my parents.

Shanghai

    Shanghai is one of the municipalities cities in China. It is a place which is diversity, modern and lively. I live in here when I was borned, so I have a lot of feeling about this city. First, Shanghai has many European building from many years ago, because the enemies from the other country rent the land in Shanghai, then they built it. Although, these enemies did many bad thing to us, but thay gave this city many artisitc building. The snack from Shanghai is very famous in China. When I was a child,  I always went to several kinds of snake storn with my friends after my class over. Not only Chinese food or Shanghai style but also many kinds of foreign food. Therefore, foreign tourists don't need to worry they won't used to eat Chinese food. Shanghai is an International city. There are many international companies in there. This means, there are many people from different countries are in Shanghai. Especilly when the Shanghai EXPO was held, we can see Chinnese and foreign talk together on the street under the sunshine, very friendly. Shanghai is a city that is beautiful, lovely and never sleep.

Alki Beach

    My favorite palce in Seattle is Alki beach. There is a place which have peace and vibrant atmasphere. I whish I can live there because when I look out through the windows , I can see the beautiful sea, the people walk with dogs or children in the morning. The air in Alki beach is fresh; the wind in Alki beach is comforetable; The personal shops in Alki beach have very different interesting style. At night, the night view of Seattle is appear on the across the sea. All the lights in apartments are lighten. Through the windows, I can see many people are watching football gmae and drinking wine.

A Frightening Experience

     After I came to America, every nights are very normal to me. Sometimes I have good dreams and sometimes I have bad dreams. However, I felt like a real bad dream happened in one night. It was in winter, cold and windy. I slept at 11 oclock. Since I stayed very late last night, I fell to sleep quickly. After one hour, my phone rang. I felt strange, who would called me at that time? However, one thing that made me more confused is my phone could not show the number of the person who was calling me. All the thing on screen is "An unknown phone 1". I picked the phone up and said:" Hello?", but no one answered me on the another side of phone. Couple seconds later, a incredible sound through my eardrum. The voice sounded like a animal is breathing and sob, it was really hard to tell. That time, nothing was in my head. I just hang up the phone. I could not sleep any more, because I couldn't stop thinking about the phone call. It was the most strange night in my 16 years.

My Best Friend

    I met my best friend when I was in grade 9. Her name is Wendy and she will come to America for studying with me. Wendy is a really honest friend. We trust each other. She likes painting and mucis, although she haven't had any class for painting but she can draw pretty good. Wendy likes laughing and eatting, so all the people think she is open-minded optimism. Therefore, she always talks about her mind in her heart to me and  I will help her. She always encourages me when I was upset, believes me when no one believe me.
   By the way, she can play flute. Sometimes, she is pessimism like me, but we comfort each other. Wendy likes the T-shirt from NIKE. She dresses up like a boy and she likes to drink NongFu mineral water.

My weekend

   After I came America, I haven't many interesting or special weekend. Almost weekends are easy and relaxable. One of  my weekends started with a phone call which was from my friends. Thay asked me for having lunch with them, in China Town. I thought: I have nothing to do at home , why I am not go with them and have fun? I met them at China Town on lunch time. We discuessed which restaurant should we went. Finally, we decided to eat hot pot. I haven't eatten hot pot for long time!!! We had the best lunch in America this time. In the afternoon, after lunch, we also went to the Pike market. Although, we hadn't  bought anything, but we really enjoying the atmosphere at here. Then, we went to the seaside. There are many seagulls flying above Seattle. The wind from the sea made us comfortable and peace. I have never known the sea helps me have such a goog mood. It was a insipid weekend, but we like it!

Valentines' Day

       Actually, I haven't had any Valentines' Day with other people, so I am not really know about this festival. When I was in China, I saw many chocolate or rose in their hands at Valentines' Day. In an Valentines' Day, when I was in an  subway, I saw a man who held a rose. After 3 or 4 stops, his expression became lose countenance, I thought he was late for his date. At Valentines' day, we have many special activitise and TV showes, but I have never care about that, Valentines' Day just is a normal for me.

Chinese Writting Style

    I really like read novels in Chinese, some are written by Chinses and some are translated from American novels. I think there are some differences between theses two kinds of novels. First, Chinese people like use many dialogues to describe one thing, but American like use regular describe better and they really like use a lot of adjectives. The plots of Chinse novals are not ups and downs like American novals. For example, a horrible noval, Chinese people like make the whole story is exciting. Evety kinds of writting style have their own advantage.

A New Apartment

Last week, I moved out from my homestay. It means I will do all the things by myself. It is a good time for help me to be a independent person. I live with 3 of my friends and they are all good people. I still keeping in touch with my homestay, her name is shirley, and she also is my roommatea' friend. She is a really kind person. She is patient, kind and humor. The soup that she made is very delcious.Until now she is the biggest helper after I came to America.

Hello! I am Lucy. I come from Shanghai, China. I just been America for 3 months, so I still have many to learn. I haven't finished my high school yet, so I came to college(South Seattle Community College) to get my diplpma. I was in your class at last quarter, and I am glad to have your writting class. I think this class will be wonderful. I like watching movies, enjonying music, painting(although I have never went to any paingting classes, but I like that) and sleeping, but actually, I haven't good sleeping every night,so I looking forword a good sleeping usually.
